The final two top designers
Matt and Carisa
What do you think? Don't hold back. Give us your opinions. Were the viewers robbed, or did the right designers earn the two top slots?

I think that based on who made it to the end - these are the right choices. Impossible to say based on the whole field - since some good people were sent home early. Matt and Carisa both have strong and developed aesthetics, which couldn't be more different. It can be like judging a dog show - how to do you judge the better of an airdale vs. a beagle puppy.
It's hard to appreciate the value and accomplishment of spaces that don't match our personal likes and dislikes. But, that's the task here.
One thing that most viewers and commenters seem hung up on is personality. Carisa has been a pain in the ass, no question. But she's not devious or mean-spirited and this isn't "Top Sweetheart". It's not "Top Carl" (although I've developed quite a crush on Carl). It's "Top Design".
Matt and Carisa will (hopefully) really produce beautiful, and different, spaces for the final challenge.
Well said. I do wonder how Elizabeth, Felicia, and Erik might have fared. And we never really got to know Heather.
Carisa, though I personally don't like her taste or her mouth, had the best room. The more I view Matt's room the more I like it. His furniture choices were beautiful.
Under this intense pressure, the carpenters are getting the short end of the designers' tempers. Bravo to Sarah for keeping his cool. Kudos to Carl for sassing back!
I am also realizing that Carisa is getting on my nerves because she gets more comment play than any body. Amd we're down to so few, that naturally we're hearing and seeing her more. Aaargh! I'm going to have to watch the finals with the mute button on.
Sorry, Sarah. For keeping her cool. I would kill to have your skills, dahling, and you are most definitely a woman.
I think someone said it on the btd blog last night - Carisa and Carl fought like relatives. Big brother/little sister. nag nag nag but with underlying affection.
Since they knew who the final two were, and probably the winner, going into the editing process, it's clear to me that they've been editing their personalities to match their design styles.
Carisa is loud, pushy, bold and confident. Matt is soft-spoken, haughty, classy and elegant. Andrea is toned down, black and beige. Goil is creative, colorful, sweet and insecure.
I thought Sarah was actually a bit dismissive of Matt. She called him "boy", which to a 30-odd year old professional was a bit odd and disrespectful.
But it shows that the pressure is on and they all want to do the best they can. I give props to Carl and Sarah for caring so much.
Andrea - everyone like her for her quiet demeanor - and I think it was a bit her downfall. She never popped - visually or vocally.
I agree with Linda Merrill. And I am amused at the dog show analogy and trying to decide which breed each one most resembles. Matt is like a Borzoi. Carisa -- a yappy terrier that grabs on to something and won't let go. A Scottie. They are rather stylish too.
I think that I was predicting Matt and Erik.
Elizabeth and Heather are two that are big question marks for me. Especially Heather.
Yeah -- Carl is a real standout.
I think Carisa and Ilan Hall should get married...but never reproduce.
I'm glad Matt won but admit it was probably only because it would be a cold day in hell when Margaret allows Carisa's name to be uttered in the same sentence as Elle Décor Magazine, let alone be featured in it.
